How We Work


1. Call, fax, write, or fill out our online camera quote form for your free quote. Tell us what you have along with any information you can provide about its cosmetic and mechanical condition. If you do not know how to describe the condition of your item, refer to our condition grading information for hints. If you do not know what model of camera, lens, or accessory you have, check our camera resources page for identification information. There are thousands of cameras that are difficult to identify, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you are having trouble figuring out what you have!

2. If you are happy with the price quote that we have given you, carefully pack your equipment including your name, address, and phone number inside the box. We suggest that you ship your camera to us by United Parcel Service insured delivery, but other methods are fine if UPS is not easily available to you. If you are in a hurry, shipment by next or second day are is available, but please call or email to make sure that we will be able to take a look at your shipment right when it arrives.

We do visit several areas of the country regularly for trade shows. If we are going to be in your area, we would be happy to set up an appointment to look at your cameras, lenses, or accessories. For large collections, we are willing to make a special trip.

3. In almost every case, we are able to contact you with a firm offer for your equipment the same day that it arrives at our office. However, there may be a short delay for authentication or repair estimates. If you are happy with our offer, we will get payment in the mail to you the same day (we can send payment via FedEx next day air for a charge of about $10). If we are not able to reach an agreement on the purchase price, we will be happy to return your equipment to you by UPS insured delivery at our expense.


We will call you when we receive your shipment. If you change your mind, or we don’t reach a mutual agreement, we will return your shipment at our expense. We are members of the Denver/Boulder, Colorado Better Business Bureau, and have been advertising with Shutterbug Magazine for over ten years. Please do not hesitate to contact them for references.
